A collaboration with the talented Kate Husted, hand thrown by her in her Inglewood studio, glazed by me. I've been a fan of her work for a while, so this one was a big privilege. I thought it would be fun to pair her sleek, iconic forms with my loose lines for a contrast.
"JW Rocks" Hand Painted Pet Rock
As a kid I'd draw little guys on rocks all the time. I was a little late to the pet rock fad of the '70s, having grown up in the early 2000s, but it's always been something I was fond of. During Covid I started going on walks every day and noticed people in my neighbourhood leaving out hand painted rocks, a quiet way to connect with neighbours when seeing them in person was rare. I wanted to add my own. I wasn't sure what to paint at first, but you always have yourself as reference. And that's how JW Rocks started.
